Preloved Vintage German porcelain saucer
This is a vintage German porcelain saucer features a deep cobalt blue glaze and intricate gold baroque-style embellishments.
- The design includes a white central medallion with a small, hand-painted floral motif.
- The rim has a scalloped or fluted edge.
- Similar items are often sold as part of a tea trio (cup, saucer, and side plate).
- The mark on the rear features a wreath design with intertwined initials in the centre, a common motif for porcelain from this era and region.
- "BAVARIA" is written below the wreath, indicating its origin in the Kingdom of Bavaria, Germany.
- The number "12" likely refers to a specific pattern number or internal production code.
- According to Google, Bavaria porcelain with this specific backstamp was manufactured by Oscar Schaller & Co and is typically dated to the 1950s. Please make your own enquiries about that, as I am only being guided by what google says. Sold as is.
The pattern is as shown in the photos. There is some colour loss in spots. Some of the gold decoration is degraded. There are no chips or cracks. One blue saucer and the pink saucer has some roughness to the bottom rim. The yellow saucer has what feels like a small fleabite on the bottom rim.
There are four available for separate sale as shown in the photos. The sale is for one saucer.
