Preloved Vintage DIXON forks, set of four silver forks
These forks are marked DIXON.
The fork is 19.2cm long. The fork section measures 7.1cm in length and is 2.5cm wide.
They have some wear but overall are in average-to-good vintage condition. They have plate loss. It is difficult to get an accurate photo of their condition because of reflections.
The markings in the image appear to be the maker's mark for James Dixon & Sons, a well-known Sheffield, England-based manufacturer of silverware and cutlery.
Hallmark Breakdown
DIXON: The maker's name stamp for James Dixon & Sons.
The Trumpet/Bugle and Banner: This was the trademark symbol used by James Dixon & Sons, often found on their electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or Britannia metal wares.
Additional Stamp (Left): Appears to be a secondary quality mark, letter, or standard registry symbol associated with their plating or pattern designations.
Because the piece lacks a standard sterling silver crown or lion passant hallmark, it indicates the item is silver-plated rather than solid silver. Similar marks from this firm were frequently used from the late 19th century through the mid-20th century.
