These are vintage souvenir playing cards featuring art by Gottfried Lindauer of a New Zealand Maori Chief.
The cards are marketed by G.B. Scott Souvenirs Ltd., Auckland, and showcase 52 different views of New Zealand along with two "Tiki" jokers.
The portrait on the box is of Haora Tipa Koinaki, a fighting Chief of the Ngāti Paoa tribe.
The full vintage Views of New Zealand souvenir playing card deck was published by G.B. Scott Souvenirs, Auckland, around the 1960s.
The cards feature 52 unique black-and-white and colored photographic landscapes of regions around the country, combined with Maori cultural portraits on the face cards.
It includes two distinctive illustrated Tiki Jokers.
They measure 6cm x 8.8cm.
The cards have marks and wear consistent with their vintage age.
The plastic packet is in average vintage condition. It has a crack repaired with tape.
