A mud flap weight is a weighted plate, usually made of stainless steel or chrome-plated metal, attached to the bottom edge of a semi-truck's mud flaps. Their primary function is to keep the flexible mud flaps from flapping in the wind, which helps reduce road grime, dirt, and debris from spraying onto the truck or other vehicles.
