While the front features the 1976 calendar, the back shows it was designed for functional kitchen use. The long fabric bridge allows you to carry large pots or heavy baking sheets with both hands protected.
Details of the Mitt
Design: A "bridge" style that hangs over an oven handle: two pockets and a long connecting strip
Protection: The white pockets are padded on the inside to resist heat.
Versatility: In the 70s, these were often sold as "calendar towels" that you could actually use once the year was over.
 
It has generalised wear and fading.
It is a collectible souvenir item from that year.
 
It is in good vintage condition.  The pattern and colouring are well-preserved. It has fraying and general wear.
