Butterick 3157, a vintage 1960s empire waist nightgown sewing pattern.

The pattern provides multiple options for creating a nightgown with a high-waisted, gathered silhouette.

Pattern Details and Variations The pattern includes four distinct styles, ranging from shorter "babydoll" lengths to full-length gowns:

View A: An ankle-length nightgown featuring a high-line drawstring detail.

View B: A street-length version of the gown.

     View C: A street-length version without the high-line drawstring.

View D: A shorter length, often referred to as a "babydoll" style, which may include lace trim and elasticized bloomers.

The design is characterized by a gathered neckline and an optional ribbon drawstring.

This specific envelope is marked as Medium (sizes 14-16), which corresponded to a different measurement standard than modern sizing.

The pattern envelope has some markings and tears. The pieces are vintage used pattern pieces.

This is the original pattern, not a reproduction and not a pdf.

The pattern pieces are unprinted. They are old-school pattern pieces and need to be traced onto the fabric.
