This item is a paua shell and metal kiwi bird ornament, a popular souvenir from New Zealand. The body is constructed from a silver-colored metal (likely aluminium or chrome-plated), and the back is inlaid with iridescent pieces of genuine New Zealand paua (abalone) shell
 
This ornament measures 4.2cm (h) x 2.7cm (w)  x 5.8cm (l).
