A vintage "Test Match" cricket board game, first produced in the mid-1950s by John Sands Pty. Ltd. in Australia. It was a very popular game in the era before television became widespread.
Game Details
- Publisher: John Sands Pty. Ltd., an Australian bookseller and stationer that produced games from 1929 to 1978.
- Mechanism: The original game relies entirely on chance, using cardboard tabs or rotating controls to randomly determine the type of ball bowled and the runs scored by the batsman.
- Versions: Different versions exist, including a three-dimensional one released later by Crown & Andrews. The version pictured appears to be an earlier flat-board version from the 1950s or 1960s.
- Condition: It has cosmetic damage. The rotating tabs turn smoothly and show different outcomes. The box has damage and sticky tape repairs. The instruction card has pen marks on the rear. (Photo to come). There are some pen marks on the board and box.
- Dimensions: The box measures 38.2cm x 28.6cm, with a thickness of 3.1cm.
- Suitable for any number of players.
