 This is a vintage wooden presentation case from Royal Selangor, a globally renowned Malaysian manufacturer of fine pewterware.
 
The diamond-shaped branding stamped on the lid features the company name alongside "1885," honouring the year the company was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a young Chinese blacksmith named Yong Koon.
 
Because the logo reads "Royal Selangor Pewter" (rather than the earlier "Selangor Pewter"), this box was manufactured after 1992, following the company's official name change to commemorate its royal warrant.
 
These presentation boxes were used to house premium gifts and collectibles, most commonly:
