Vintage daisy wheel (also called a flower loom or daisy winder).
How it works:
Yarn winding: You wrap yarn, thread, or crochet cotton back and forth around the protruding metal pins/spokes in a star or flower pattern.
Securing: Once you've wrapped all the spokes, sew or embroider through the centre to tie the strands together.
Knob feature: Turning or pulling the central black knob releases or helps slide the finished woollen or cotton daisy flower off the tool.
Use: These little handmade flowers are then joined together to make items like baby blankets, layettes, hot pads, or decorative floral appliqués.
The knob is plastic, the tool is metal. It is grey metal in colour.
