This lovely piece is a Carl Scheidig "Girl with Lamb" (or Mädchen mit Lamm) porcelain figurine, showcasing the classic mid-century kitsch style common in German nurseries during the 1950s and 1960s.

It features a blonde girl with closed eyes wearing a pastel blue dress, sitting affectionately next to a stylised, wide-eyed lamb on a textured grassy base.

This blue underglaze backstamp belongs to Porzellanfabrik Carl Scheidig, an iconic porcelain factory founded in 1906 in Gräfenthal, Thuringia, Germany.

The specific design shows a stylised letter 'S' beneath an eagle-tailed crown with five visible peaks, a hallmark variety used primarily during the mid-20th century.

I think it is bisque procelain but I am not sure.

Standing a touch over 9.5cm tall and measuring 8.6cm in length and 8.2cm in depth.

It's in great condition with some chipping of the floral garland on the girl's head. Please study all the photos.

A wonderful way to brighten up a dull corner, it's bound to get a wagonload of comments when visitors see it.

Given its age, I am unsure how well it would hold water for fresh flowers but it is great for a fake flower arrangement.
