A vintage "Test Match" cricket board game, first produced in the mid-1950s by John Sands Pty. Ltd. in Australia. It was a very popular game in the era before television became widespread.

Game Details

  • Publisher: John Sands Pty. Ltd., an Australian bookseller and stationer that produced games from 1929 to 1978.
  • Mechanism: The original game relies entirely on chance, using cardboard tabs or rotating controls to randomly determine the type of ball bowled and the runs scored by the batsman.
  • Versions: Different versions exist, including a three-dimensional one released later by Crown & Andrews. The version pictured appears to be an earlier flat-board version from the 1950s or 1960s.
  • Condition: It has cosmetic damage. The rotating tabs turn smoothly and show different outcomes. The box has damage and sticky tape repairs The scoreboard tabs have damage. They still turn.
  • Dimensions: The box measures 38.2cm x 28.6cm, with a thickness of 3.1cm.
  • Suitable for any number of players.
