The stone has a specialised, elongated, boat-like shape designed for specific manual sharpening tasks.

Used for sharpening scythes and sickles.

It appears to be a natural or abrasive composite material, showing signs of use and wear.

The smoothness can be roughed up *lapping, flattening or dressing) using 100-150 grit sandpaper, concrete rubbing or diamond levelling plate.
